DALLAS, TEXAS (September 21, 2009) - The third weekend in September saw the Dallas Cowboys open their new season in a brand new state of the art stadium. For three days the venue played host to a series of high profile events to usher in the new era. Once again the Cowboys turned to Excitement Technologies Group (ETG) to work their special effects magic to make the weekend a memorable experience.

The festivities began Friday, September 18 with a live broadcast of NBC's today show from Cowboys Stadium. Hosts Matt Lauer and Al Roker made their way through a sea of low fog in the players' tunnel, re-creating the experience of taking the field for a game.
On Saturday night, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hosted invitation-only, black-tie gala throughout the stadium. For the finale of the evening, the outdoor plaza was brought to life with a spectacular six minute show featuring fireworks, lasers and ETG's revolutionary new Ogre CO2 jets.
For game day, the Cowboys asked ETG to create a wealth of effects to celebrate several firsts in the new stadium. The Cowboy Star was unveiled for the midfield amidst a burst of pyrotechnics and co2 blasts. The team made their way through the player's tunnel, accentuated by low fog and custom lighting. As each of the Cowboys took the field, they were announced with a burst of flame and CO2 from custom Dallas Cowboys Star props created by ETG. At halftime, the Cowboys' Ring of Honor was unveiled by members of ETG's team. A series of spectacular bursts of fireworks celebrated the event, capping off the weekend long celebration.
